If at first you don’t like it, keep working; paint over it!

Did you see the first version of Live Smarter, Not Harder? Sometimes you think you have a good idea. And then once you’re done, you realize no. That idea led to the version of patina blue prints you see below.

If you saw the first try, you saw it. I knew I could do better, and I did!

Here is how to fix a painting that didn’t work

• Forget about it
• Paint over it

In Anthropologie, I found a candle with beautiful pink colors. I noticed it before, but I thought now was a great time to work on it. I took a picture of the candle, came home, and researched how to mix the colors. I had that old version of my quote art and painted over it.

Here’s the formula for the beautiful deep magenta color:

White + Magenta + Cobalt Blue

Add a drop of yellow to add warmth.

I had to share this painting because the first try may not be what you want. You have to figure out a way to make it work. The only way to make it work is to do it.
