I am sharing this colorful botanical bouquet with you because this is the kind of art that happens to all of us. Let me explain.

We are deep in the process. The process may have you feeling like you are further from the big idea than you began with. You create with what you think you should do. You keep painting to make it work instead of simply painting. Then your creativity is ignited like the childhood days when all that mattered was you got to explore new tools, make a mess, and just paint! That is the magic!

Yes, I am being intentional with my art pieces, but I want my art to be ignited by my spirit and individuality. I had to take a moment and reflect and get ready for the final touches to a few new pieces for my shop and the beginning of a beautiful book project!

Project Idea

Get out your paint. Observe the colors. Make swatches and mix colors to make lovely shades. Now that you have all of this wonderful color, make something. It could be marks or maybe that painting that you want to paint, but you’re doubting your skills. Say to yourself the following words. I’m not wasting my energy on that. I will paint the way I know how and see what happens.
