Two ideas here:

  • Sketch to Sellable Pattern Class
  • Paint My Own Pattern

I just finished editing my What a Beautiful World book and am waiting for it to be published. I went through all my Etsy listings, am waiting to see how they do, and started a quote project. What else do I do? Learn patterns. I am exploring all art options. Art is my life, and painting flowers is my therapy. Gardens are my therapy. A creative business is my dream.

My Hand-Painted Pattern

Hand painted cottagecore pink floral pattern

I love the textured background and all of the flowers. It makes me dream of wandering in a garden with all of these colorful flowers. Now I would love to take this and turn it into a pattern!

Sketch to Sellable

There are three reasons why I am taking a pattern class. First, I love the idea of using my hand-painted elements to create patterns, but the process- well, I am clueless. Second, I recently discovered a fabric store with aisles and rooms of fabric. I could do that! Third, I am succeeding with my creative business. I don’t have all of the answers, but I will get them.

Fun Project Idea!

Research patterns that you like on Pinterest. Then mix up a color palette and start filling the page. Think of how everything will fit together. Mostly, just paint.
