I have never considered a journal a tool. Paying $20-$30 for a journal meant that I had to be good. My first few journals were actually old notebooks. You know the kind you intend to write in, but after a while you forget about it.

Then I watched a video of Suzanne Allard talking about her journals and how it’s her space to play. That encouraged me to play! Sure, I have a plan to draw flowers, but magic happens when you test out tools, paint over what you don’t like, and keep going.
That is exactly what happened here.

I love the colors here. I say this a lot, but this beautiful bouquet is what got me to say yes! This is my signature style! This is absolutely me. In fact. I should change these flowers into a vertical layout. I have these blooms as a square print in my shop. Done!
This pink and blue bouquet speaks to my spirit. This idea came from within. My work more than ever expresses how gardens make me feel. There is this peace and wholeness.
Oh, I remember this character I created. Her name is Anabella, and she was chosen to be the queen bee, but she doesn’t want to be. I actually wrote that story. I love writing too. Oh, by the way, my new book, What a Beautiful World, will be out soon!

Thank you so much for being here.
