So yesterday I started painting fall ideas. I had this plan, and it included creating with intention. Creating with attention seems to be a golden rule in the art business. I have big dreams for my art business!

Watercolor Floral Bouquet Print ( tomorrow was better)

It was a hot and humid day; I was using acrylic paint. Let’s say I threw out a good stack of paper. I can smile about it now because I just read an interesting post by Suzanne Allard. She talked about embracing discomfort in our creativity. Yes, yesterday I did have discomfort! Oh boy, was I uncomfortable. I sat, intending to make fall flowers. I kept trying and threw out paper.

  1. I learned to say it’s OK. This was a great painting session because I got to paint. And tomorrow’s another day.
  2. What went wrong? I was thinking, thinking about business and creating with intention.
  3. Be Available for Abundance. It’s weird because art is where I feel the most free. I realize that discomfort gets lost when I start creating; it may show up, but when I really am in my place, there is no good or bad. I’m available to explore my ideas, and that is why I feel free.

So what’s the best purchase I’ve ever made? My art supplies.

tubes of acrylic paint

I enjoy the freedom of painting, my ideas, and yes, I’m still going to be thinking about creating art with attention. I’m more interested in what I think! I’ll follow trends for the sake of paying attention to what captivates me! I’m an artist; I trust my process. That’s where the magic is.

What is the best purchase you ever made?

Thank you for being here.

Art supplies are an excellent choice! I don’t know what I would choose. Maybe books.

Books are great too. You can always learn whatever you want and dream it too!
