I always go back and forth wth my palette. What are your favorite colors? What color stands out as your favorite in your wardrobe or in your home? Chances are, these colors represent your character.
There are certain colors you want to hang on your walls to bring you peace, optimism, cheer, or whatever vibe you are going for.
I have been thinking about my color palettes. How do my color palettes relate to the flowers I like to paint? Palettes can be art too!
Here are some of my palettes

I can see that my colors are influenced by nature. I love to be outdoors. Pinks, yellows, blues, and greens are my vibe.
A Color Observation
I was wandering around a city village of shops and restaurants. I came to this window display that had a huge magic color mixing guide. Of course, I was drawn to it. I wanted to photograph it, but the sun was shining so brightly, and the shadows wouldn’t do my photo justice. I decided to stand there and take the whole scene in. What colors were I drawn to? I realized that I am drawn to warm colors! I like a few cool colors. Contrast is good, right? That got me thinking about my projects and the color lessons I keep learning.
My color palette is reflective of the following idea:
My work is rooted in feeling-the calm of a breeze, the warmth of the sun, the color of orange roses, and the sense of peace you find when you slow down and simply be.
My abstract floral paintings are loose, layered, and full of life-warmth, playful, and created to bring optimism into your everyday.
Here is a colorful flower bouquet I’m working on:

I love my textured brushstrokes and my colors. The green leaves are what warm this painting up. I feel my ideas have been good, but color has been the missing element in my art. I love painting with blue, and observing trends helps me mix trendy blues. When I browse in Anthropologie, I notice the various blues and all of the beautiful colors!
What do you think of these color lessons?
- Choose a color that goes with your vibe
- Use a limited color palette and make one color your hero color
- The right tone of color can elevate the design or mood
