Oh my goodness, where did April go? Hello May! I hope you are well and working on what excites you! Maybe working on your mindfulness and working on the peace that we all need in the world, right?

Here is what I have been working on.

Look at my before and after.

I set this aside; no, I’m not going to throw it away. I love the pink buds and the vase too much. I am glad I stuck with this painting. It is for sale.

Don’t you just want to simplify your day so you can do more of what you love? I am working hard on my art and building my shop. There’s learning about social media and how to promote my work. There’s the other side of staying healthy, body, mind, and soul. Right now, I am learning how to work smarter, not harder. If you have any tips, let me know.

One of the ways I am working smarter is AL. I hand-paint all of my flowers. I am using AI to help me write titles, tags, and descriptions for my art listings. I have also used it to help me improve my writing for my website.

I have new work and am building a shop like never before! I’m embracing texture, little imperfections, and, of course, colors. I know my best work is inside of me. I have seen it. I just have to keep painting and not give up, surrender to the process. The two main categories I know people will love are: minimalist flower paintings for instant downloads, and art prints for more detailed flower paintings. I have lots of other fun items like stickers and blankets. I want my art to be the pop of color, warmth, and optimism it is for me.

Staying Motivated

I am dedicated every day to working on my shop. Yes, I got a few sales! I was doing well on Pinterest and increasing the number of followers on my website. One night, I noticed 30 subscribers unfollowed me. I don’t know why these people unfollowed me. I don’t want people to go away. I want to attract people. Yet I am here. I love nature and painting my flowers, of course. Walking away is not an option. I am finding my way. I have my way!

I was able to finish my Van Gogh painting lessons. I’ve always thought about ideas. That’s the problem. I’ve thought about my ideas too much! That has changed! Mugs for Mother’s Day? Done. Botanical Flower t-shirts? Done. Printable Art Lessons? I did that too! There comes a time when one must say enough of the planning and do it! Do I have all the answers? No? I just have to start. I am figuring things out as I move along!

Here’s my project. You can get the lesson here.

Went to a Garden

I went to a garden, which felt like forever since the last time I went. This made me think of the garden I went to for sketching and wandering around. What a day! When was the last time you wandered in a garden? I have been seeing such lovely roses.

So that’s it! I have been working on a lot. I just want to share my art with the world. I feel like I have been painting better than I ever have. What are you working on? Hope it’s a passion project!

I can see from these words and the work I am doing that I am checking doubt and fear at the door. I am doing this!

Finally, summer is almost here! What are your plans? I will be teaching! Starting a brand new journal. I want to revamp my There’s No Right Way To Paint Flowers book. It will be a free download. I want to bring it into Canva, work on the cover, and work on the presentation for the book. Speaking of presentation. That is what I need to work on for my website and my store. I believe in my work.

Thank you so much for reading! If this is your walk in the garden or a cup of tea, then subscribe. Don’t forget to share what’s been happening around your creative space. Stay healthy. See you on Wednesday, unless I post sooner than that.
