Here are my ideas.
It has been a few days since I have picked up a paint brush. I have had a lack of energy. Mostly, I am trying to finish up a coloring book. There was a lot of pen lines I had to clean up. It would have been much easier creating a coloring book in Procreate. I love doodling flowers drawing by hand helped me realized I am pretty good at drawing. I took a class this past summer about creating products with your art. A coloring book filled with my doodles lit me up.

I have been surrounded by students painting a variety of projects. They always have brilliant ideas. I always ask, “How did you do that! It is always the same answer. I don’t know. I just painted. Exactly!!
The projects we have been working on are construction paper American flag, Jacob Lawerence watercolor and collage buildings and self-portraits, La Loteria marker and pencil cards and Frida Kahlo self-portraits. Every time I felt right at home!
The best part is seeing what students come up with. It amazes me every time.
One student asked me,” I am not sure about this, Can I start over.” I told him,” It looks great. Keep working and everything will come together. What a finished painting it was!
As I write these words, I am asking myself, why not that same enthusiasm for my process and art?
With all that enthusiasm in my heart, I come home and make art.

We all have wonderful ideas, yet we don’t act on them. I share work on my blog because my art is my peace and self-expression. I get lost in my art and find myself. That is what I mean by wonderful ideas!
If you want to make great art just start by creating in your sacred creative space. Corita Kent calls it a place you trust and trust it for a while. Austin Kleon calls it bliss station. I do like that!
