I wrote a post about being you in your art. I used to do paper collages a lot. I had a file folder full of painted textured paper.

It was Valentine’s Day and I thought, let’s do more of what I love. Paper collage came to mind. I wanted flowers that said I am. As I cut the pieces, the flowers were coming together. I thought I was good at this! The other thought was, did I just arrange this? I was simply appreciating my work like I do other artists.
I had the chance to paint flowers with a 3-4 grade class. I gave them the tools. I made a few suggestions. Yet again, they showed me. What creativity!

I want to sway with the breeze and feel the ease. I don’t want to think. I want to be weird and play. I want to be me because I am.
That is my lesson for this week. It is time to begin a new journal. I went to the art store and picked up gouache in Orange Lake and Opera Rose. I swatched them and oh my! I will be exploring gouache and creating a post for next week. And I shall film the students’ flower paintings.
Thank you for reading. Do you have experience with gouache?
