It is always simple doodles like these that remind me of what I want to do every day and forever!

I painted my Hyacinths by mixing blue and magenta in various amounts to get those blue, pink, and purple spots. I mixed these colors into my greens. What a wonderful time practicing color harmony. Or having a hero color, as they say!
Here I doodled on the back of a watercolor sheet.

At first, I thought it was a sticker, then this lovely spring pattern happened. The more you make, the more ideas you get. Do I ever get creative block? No.
I painted these Tulips with a Crayola Washable set.

At first, I was like, this is why I only recommend the educational set! The washable paint paints and feels weird. The brush wasn’t holding the water right. A good brush should! Yet, I kept painting, and I loved the way the paint dried. Even the outline looks interesting. Oh, and someone commented that my sketch was so pretty!
An artist, that’s me, can make something beautiful with any tools!
Spring Landscapes! Yes. I always thought I couldn’t paint those. Now I know I can! You can see my spring landscape and all of my little book sketches on Instagram. You can see my process. I am currently working on a set of four prints inspired by this beautiful painting.

The Joys that come from working in a sketchbook are that you can explore ideas and PLAY. To recap, I used pencils, markers, acrylic, watercolor, a washable one, and $1 paper. The beauty of art is that you can use whatever you want.
