Summer is a time of leisure and play. Shouldn’t we always have a little summer in our day? Absolutely!

In this post I am going to share my summer project list. Then I will have a bonus section filled with more project ideas. If you are like me one idea will ignite other ideas and suddenly, you’ll have a bunch of beautiful art!
Let’s get on to the ideas so we can get to the painting!
Here is my summer list
Paper Journal with Copy Paper

Take a stack of copy paper. Fold it however you want. Make a book and fill it with finger painted flowers. I want to fill my book with various flowers. Choose a pen and for each flower write down the lessons that I have learned through my art.
30 Day Blog Post Challenge
For 30 days paint something or think of art topics and blog about it. I should probably blog every day! Not only is this consistency but I’ll be putting my work out there more often. I did this one summer and what a boost in confidence and stats! Choose your social media platform and get posting!
Sell Your Work

There are platforms like Redbubble and Print on Demand where you can sell your art on your website. I have practically no clue how to do this. That is why I should! Let it be what the force wants, but I must try!
Give your art a second chance
We all have a file of work. You know the file filled with your work that you made, it means a lot to you? That file probably contains my best work. It always does, right? That’s the work we do for ourselves.

Here are ideas for giving your art a second chance. Turn art prints into a pattern. Oh, my what about paper collage? Eric Carle vibes here we go! Here is a great idea that I have been doing lately. Pull out old paintings and add new layers of texture and color. Give your art a chance. Give yourself a chance.
Hopefully my ideas ignite your curiosity. This usually works for me.
Here is a bonus list of ideas.
- Hand letter ideas with the phrase Today is a good day to…
- paint the sun
- Go to a garden, the beach or sit by the pool and paint
- Create an evening ritual where you gaze up at the moon and tell her your dreams
- Observe one of your favorite floral photos. Close your eyes. With a pen, draw flowers from your memory.
Do you have an idea? I would love for you to share it. If you try any of the ideas let me know. I especially would love any advice on adding a shop to my website.
Interested in more painting ideas and talk? Subscribe to my blog and be part of a garden where wildflowers grow. I do like the sound of that!
