This is a project I had the honor, yes honor, of working on. The walls were bare. The tree was bare. No colors. No spring. Then I did what I always hoped my art could do. I had an idea, and we implemented it beautifully!
If you are looking for a feel-good read and project inspiration, read on. I think I should pull out my file of collage paper and make a tree. If I get the chance, I will create a tree for Valentine’s Day!
Ok, on to the tree project!
I always come back to this tree.

How Painting a Tree Came to Be
It was holiday craft-making time. I had tons of leftover hearts meant for cards and wreaths. There was a trunk and branches that needed leaves. One of the best ideas we ever had.
Learning to Be a True Artist

All I Had to Do Was Be Quiet and Let the Kid Paint.
Yes, I wanted to say, why black and purple? Maybe I encouraged them to paint green leaves. Oh, but seeing the leaves and suddenly, the artist in me thought, just see what happens. We all worked together. A few friendships were mended. Art loves us all!
When the leaves dried, I laid out all of the leaves in no particular order. I grabbed the leashes and placed them according to the wow of it all. Yes, I wondered again. Would someone question why the leaves aren’t green? Crazy, I know. Then, like magic, I began to hear how lovely the colors were and how all the leaves looked beautiful together.
And just like that, there was a special reason for walking into that room. From then on, posters were painted, and suddenly, it was a colorful room. Work and learning were fun! We did it together!

Your turn!
Paint a tree of love or a tree of life. It could be as simple as painting hearts, punching a hole on top of each heart, adding a string, writing a message of love, and hanging it on a tree. A Valentine’s Day wishing tree? Didn’t I paint a wishing tree? Maybe like a vision board?
I am really liking the paper collage idea. Use a big brush to paint the trunk and branches. Add the leaves. I think so!
What is your idea?
Thank you for being here!
