Before I entered The Broad Museum, I was wandering in the gift shop and came across these words on a blue T-shirt:
Peace is Power
Immediately I lit up. There I was in a museum, awaiting my turn to get in. I almost wasn’t going to go, but I decided to get on the train and go! Yes, being able to wander inside a museum and identify with ideas, worldly views, and feeling like my body and mind are those of an artist is a beautiful freedom. To feel that freedom is the greatest power because it makes you feel like everything is possible. It is!
Here are a couple of pictures of my favorite parts of the exhibit Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind
The Grapefruit book

I loved reading all of her ideas for making art and how all the beautiful little things like a breeze or a breath are art. Her mind is just brilliance. Makes me embrace all of my ideas even more!
The Blue Room

Guests are invited to draw something blue or white. I drew flowers and the words I am. I could see everyone drawing. Standing back, taking it all in, I felt that we are one. Everyone is an artist. Together we created that masterpiece. Much can be said about one’s community and county. People came from all parts of the world. If we examine all the true greatness, we can see that it came from all of us!
These are just a few of the exhibits that inspired me, like my soul needs to be. I am an artist! Art is how I find my power, my peace. I come to an idea; I may have an idea of what it should be, but doubt may be there, but that isn’t me. It’s just the everyday noise.
I am so glad I took the train to the museum! Now I feel an immense inspiration to tell my story as an artist. If I were to have my work exhibited in a museum, I want people to feel my peace. What then do I want to show them? This week I will be sketching ideas and creating new art!
Being at the exhibit made me jump inside, saying That is me! I have all these ideas. I’m not weird. Maybe I am, but oh my goodness, that book I’m working on let’s do it!
