Yes and yes. Summer is here, and what better time than to go to an art store and pick up some supplies? Build a box of curiosity and use these tools to make stuff!
I am an artist, and I want to share fun ways to make stuff this summer. Hopefully, you will have so much fun that these ideas will become part of your life. I work on art every day. If you make art, let me know! If you have kids, you can get the kids involved. In fact, I hope you do because they will be your best art teachers.
Go to An Art Store
You can go to the Dollar Tree and pick up some fun items: a few bottles of paint, canvas, pens, markers, odd objects to stamp with, and whatever captures your attention. Then start painting. You can do the same at an art store. Be curious, have fun, and play!

Get a Coloring Book
I made a coloring book! This book has blank pages behind each flower design. That way, you can use whatever tools you want. These are simple, beautiful doodles that you will love to paint. Many adult coloring books can be too complex. I am not a fan of the thick black lines. My idea was to create a coloring book that also serves as an art journal.
Oh my, the blank pages can be for recording the colors and techniques you use in your paintings.

You can get my coloring book at Barnes & Noble.
One Coloring Page At A Time
I sell coloring pages in my Etsy shop. I have a free coloring page. My book is filled with doodles like these. I wanted thin lines so you can paint over this if you want.

What I love about these painting sheets is that they are perfect for garden parties. My dream is to paint in my garden. Summer is a great time for outdoor parties. Imagine you set up a table with a variety of supplies like colored pencils, watercolor palettes, markers, and acrylic paint. You can create a ritual and work on art every morning. Doesn’t that sound like a dream?
Paint Your Heart Out Ebook
Yes! I have released this book before, but I redid it, and I am excited all over again with my work!

All you have to do is subscribe to my blog if you haven’t, and you will get the link to the book. I am doing this all summer because I want you to use the tools you’ll buy and make flowers. This book is filled with ideas from fingerpainting to stamping. Plus, did I mention the book is free! If you are a subscriber, use my contact form to let me know you want the book.
This summer is all about making stuff. I am about to open my box and let the ideas take me where they may. I’ll be going to the art store to get new goodies. My only goal is to make stuff!
I will be taking evening strolls, wandering in gardens, and making art. I invite you to create with me. I am working hard to build my business and my blog. Your support means so much to me. The big idea is to get rid of the past, the noise that isn’t me, and just make art. Kids have no preconceived notion of what art is or what it should look like. They make. My goal is to get back to that!
Ok, time to check my Etsy shop and then get out my supplies and start painting. If you have a fun art idea, comment below. Maybe you have a fun ritual you like to do in the summer, an idea that lets you recharge. Comment below so we can all learn and encourage each other.
