Pink wild rose watercolor flowers

I don’t know what to call these flowers, but I painted them with wild rose watercolor ink. This is a vibrant magenta, which is perfect because I’m here, and I paint beautiful flowers. I love nature and want to share that with the world.

I added a little yellow ochre to the magenta to warm up the color. To further the warmth, there’s the orange.

Why did I paint these flowers? I had been strolling in an Anthropologie store, and this white dress with these big magenta flowers caught my eye. I immediately thought, ” Is this ink. I can paint flowers like that, and I should. I will!”

These blooms were painted with a size 14 watercolor brush, a brush I rarely use. What loose brush strokes it makes! At first, I was like, I need this painting to work for a post and for my shop. As I drew the first lines with a Neocolor, I realized I didn’t need to sketch first. All I need to do is paint, see what happens. I’m glad I made that choice.

As for the lemon painting. I did sketch that. Sometimes I sketch. Sometimes I don’t. I’m just going to keep on going.

Here’s another flower I did with ink. I had this in my shop at one point, but then I deleted it. Why did I do that? I guess it’s that always thinking your art isn’t good enough. It’s a simple painting. How can I call it art?

Again, I am here! I paint flowers, and I always will. Lately, I want to paint birds. I saw this black cat vase at Anthropologie, and that opened up a whole new world.

Oh my, I think I need more ink? I should get a pink. I have a green, and do I have this teal? I have blue acrylic ink. Little blue sketch book, we’re definitely going to create beautiful flowers. Maybe turn them into stickers. It’s happening!

I just love how one idea flows into the next.

Thank you for being here! Happy Saturday. Oh, if you want to check out my lemon painting, click here.

Is all this your cup of tea?
