Ever since I have read these words, it’s like yes, that is me! That is what I want to do. Lately, I have been painting loose and embracing an imperfect, textured, colorful style. Yes, I painted these sunflowers. I think I want to add more brighter yellows.

I love my paintings now more than ever. The reason is in mindfulness. Believing in your art and surrendering to the making is everything! I don’t like to think of something being a mistake. I know there is the phrase happy mistakes but that doesn’t work for me. I believe in Corita Kent’s words. There is only make. In that phrase, there is nature. The flowers, the breeze, and the butterflies are beautiful. All of that simply is.

And that is where I am at right now! I am building an Etsy shop, figuring out this blogging thing. and learning as I go. If others can build a career doing what they love, then I can too! In the words of Tabitha Brown, painting flowers is my business. I’m going to go on about my business and have an amazing day!
