I woke up this morning with a message of hope and love. Light was born in darkness. I think of the moon and the stars. Sometimes I wander and gaze up at the dark sky. I see the moon and the stars. It always reminds me that I have a light too! We all do.

I heard Jamie Foxx speak about his grandmother and how she inspired him. She told others to leave him alone because he was going to do great things, go places.

It’s the same message in movies and in religion. It’s prayer, meditation, yoga, mindfulness… call it what you will, but good thoughts are there. Negativity is such a dark place.

I want, and I need more good thinking. Not just say the words or read them, but feel magic as I speak, as I write, as I paint, as I teach, as I listen, as I treat others, and as I live.

Here’s what I have planned for the new days, new months, and a new year ahead.

• post my very first calendar from projects of the past,
• build a collection of surface pattern designs for wrapping paper, greeting cards, and pillows
• expand my greeting cards collection because I just want to get happy mail.
• create more posters to increase the good vibes in classrooms and creative spaces

All this is a to-do list, but I want to leave room for what else may come. The beauty of having something to begin with is that more ideas will find you.

I am working on a happenings in my creative space post. I’ll be sharing my first calendar and sharing some of the lessons that I have learned thus far. I am grateful for so much.
