There’s that painting phase where it doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t look right. You don’t exactly know what’s wrong with it. That’s when you set it aside. And then you come back to the painting with some leftover paint. You just want to play and see what you could come up with. That’s when the magic happens.

Here’s my before

And here’s my after

Bountiful Pink Bouquet of mini-roses

Oh, my I like this painting all over again! I am still working on it. The difference with the two paintings is in creating more contrast. I have realized that many of my recent paintings are bright or bold. That must have been an expression of me stepping out of my comport zone. I want pops of color but little pops of color.

Lately, I have enjoyed having a lot of work in progress. In this painting session. I worked on five paintings in progress. I would mix a color pink, add in a little bit more magenta or add a little yellow to get a warm white. I ended up with various tones of pink. Then I began adding color to all five paintings here and there. One of the paintings was the pink mini roses bouquet.

Most of my process is about letting go to see what happens. I don’t sketch with a pencil anymore. if I do sketch it is with neocolors but I just paint and layer.

Thanks for being here!
