It all started with a post from Carrie Schmitt. She had painted a cake on a pedestal with the caption, I forgot how much fun it is to paint cake!!! I had to paint my cake.
Cake is my favorite dessert. I have a board full of flower-decorated cakes. Of course, I chose my color palette because these are the colors I want to use before they dry up. These oranges and pinks are my fall seasonal colors. Not that I have seasonal colors, but these colors are my momentum right now.
Here is the idea for my cake!
Every day is a Celebration of Life

By celebrating life, I mean enjoying a cup of tea or lingering a little more before you head off to work. Or how about enjoying your work and being grateful for how you can help someone with your work? Speaking of, I just read a reply to one of my posts. The person said that my art always makes them smile. Thank you!
You know why these words lit me up. My art makes me smile, too! Truth be told, my art always makes me reflect and recognize that I didn’t need to be in foolishness. I can always choose peace. Art makes me a better person. I do try!
This cake is a reminder to be grateful every day. If you don’t have beautiful colors around you, then you can paint them. When it rains, you can paint spring. Except for the cake and my banner, I don’t know where the other elements came from. I kept layering and working. I like the hand-drawn feel.
Painting is like wandering in a garden; it always provides me with the peace and energy I need to confidently do what I need to do. Some people question how I have time to paint, but how can one afford not to?
Yes, I am turning this into a print. Yes, I am turning this into a greeting card. Oh, and I finished the coloring book! It will be available for sale soon! It’s beautiful.
I’ll be doing another pink cake for Valentine’s Day because we should love each other every day.
Thanks for being here!
