Here is the start of my project.

Oh right, this painting was my second attempt. Sometimes you have that moment where nothing is working the way you want it to. Then you have a better idea and want a fresh start. The first flower painting was a hard thought. With this floral bouquet, I had to make marks. I know what roses look like. I know how flowers make me feel. From then on, it was building shapes.
Then I worked on colors and details. I used orange to mix in with the greens. I was after color harmony. Things weren’t quite right.

After lots of layers and ideas. we are done.

The colors and the details are what I want to wake up to tomorrow. I like the orange lines on the vase. The roses and leaves are interesting. I wonder how I will feel about this bouquet tomorrow.
It’s the next day and I still love the colors! I love the blue leaves. Other than adding a little more contrast, I love my flower bouquet. I don’t paint with orange. That’s why I had to play with the color. I love peach, coral, salmon and those orange tones that are more on the yellow side. Yes, love the colors! The textures and patterns on my leaves are getting better.
If I compare my beginning and end, I see that there really is only make. The more I make art, the rest just takes care of itself. I don’t question or doubt. What I love most about my peach roses and yellow flower bouquet is that I am excited to see what else I can come up with. The more you paint, the more creative and interesting your art gets.

Beautiful work takes time, and everyone’s process is different. An artist needs to make tons of art to grow and generate ideas.
