Purple is not a color I paint with. I don’t have purple clothes. That’s exactly why I decided to mix purple and explore the color.

I have been thinking about purple. This is the first design I painted like a few years ago. I love the colors. What should I call them, warm purple pinks. Ok.

Here is the finished print that I have in my shop.

You Know You Can

I know these flowers are simple, but the colors always capture my attention.

Here is the painting I did a few days ago. My original paintings always look prettier than the photos on WordPress. I am adding this to my shop.

A field of purple, lavender, mauve and plum tulips.

Oh, my goodness I can see growth, my sense of play and details. I wanted a touch of yellow. Yellow is the complement of purple. That’s why I wanted my blues and greens to have that touch of yellow. Did I mix in a tiny amount of yellow with my purple?

Creativity always leads to peace. That’s a good title for my art. Purple is the color of creativity.

Let me scroll through my art photos to see if there are any more purple paintings. There are!

Purple is out of my comfort zone. A huge part of my work is how I experiment with various tools. Purple being the color of creativity is good.

I noticed how some of my purples look too dark and not what I wanted. Then I found a color mixing guide with Etta Vee and now I know that magenta and turquoise or Prussian blue make gorgeous purples. Here is another guide. I’ll have to learn more about mixing purple and add those swatches to my journal. Here is a good start.
