What Art Means to Me!

I have been into my journaling time and am excited to add new art to my portfolio. Art has helped me reflect and have peace. There is something about picking up a paint brush, and going through my supplies, the colors and watching the idea bloom before my eyes gives me peace. I have to paint! The only potion I need is nature, so I paint it!

Nature always makes me feel like we are one. I was walking and uttering my dreams. Then my senses felt the gentle breeze of a nearby tree. It was like yes, I hear you, hold on.

This is a quote that I have on my website.

“If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.” – Vincent van Gogh

Honor Your Art

Art isn’t good or bad. Honor your art. People may talk; they often do! When you create you are in that state of peace. You should not let anyone take that from you. Carve out time each week or day and make it a ritual.

Watch Your Language

Catch yourself saying words like ugly, good, bad or mistake. When it is really good you are not thinking about good or ugly because you are making beautiful art. When I mean beautiful, I mean the colors, the ideas, it’s a flow, you aren’t thinking about any of it. You are making art and can’t get enough of it. You paint for hours. You don’t care what people think.

These are some of my art journal entries. Oh, my goodness I like where I am going and what I am doing!
