Oh, my I love the sound of peach wildflowers. I do like the beauties I have painted. In this post I will share how to mix beautiful colors, share my wildflowers painting and share a quote.

Sometimes I mix beautiful color and want to paint flowers that can be hung on the wall for the days when you forget to see all the beauty around you. It happens and I find myself seeking all that brings me peace. Gardens, nature overall, walks, and painting bring me peace. Ok, occasionally a piece of cake or tea helps!

I am not sure if I used my heavy body acrylic or student grade paint to mix up these colors, but I love the various hints of pink with the different tones of orange. The sun kissed soft strokes express how nature makes me feel, it’s how I need to feel! The noise that happens around me is not who I am.

Color wheel created with Liquitex paint

Oh, that’s right I created a color wheel using my three primaries. This helps me see what colors I get. I do love the warm colors.

Here is My Process for Mixing the Oranges in My Peach Wildflowers.

  • Begin with yellow and mix a small amount of magenta. Then you add white. This will create your orange paint.
  • Repeat the same process as above but instead of beginning with yellow you will begin with magenta and add yellow.
  • If your colors are too bright you can add a little white or water.
  • The other way to neutralize your colors is by adding its contrasting color. In this case it’s blue.

The idea is you use one color as a base to mix your other colors. This is a simple idea that gives you harmonious color.

Wildflowers painted in various peach tones

I hope you enjoyed peach wildflowers. Painting wildflowers is an easy way to get to know your paint, mix colors and experiment so you can create your best art! Here are a few words to remind us that we always have a choice to choose to be ourselves.

“Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.” – Pablo Picasso

“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” – Thomas Merton

What is your favorite color to paint with? I would love to see your work. Do you use Affinity Designer? I am learning this program and am looking for a course to help me take my hand drawn elements and turn them into a pattern. Interested in purchasing my artwork? You can head here.

With Love, Mireya
