Blue daisies sound like a dream. If you are having a bad moment or better yet if you think you are having a rough moment, why not do a little creative exploration in your art journal. Painting ALWAYS helps. Daises are easy to paint and can be a confidence booster too!

Here is a list of tools that I used to paint my blue daisy

  • Stabilo blue Fineliner pen
  • watercolors in green and blue
  • gold green neocolor

The Process

First, I drew my flower thinking of all of the daisies I have seen. There’s the daisy wrapping paper, the daisies on a dress and the real lovely flowers, I love them all! Then I thought of the color blue. I love the blues that I have been seeing in Anthropologie. Last, I scribbled thin ovalike shapes on my petals and began layering on the color and it worked. I was painting in the moment, painting the way I paint.

A beautiful thought popped in my head. I could turn this blue daisy and other paintings into a pattern!

Fun Painting Idea

Think about something that gave you a warmth inside. It could be a color, a pattern, a song or maybe a trip you took. Think of something positive and start painting. Get pencils, pens, markers, and paint. Make a mark and keep going.

I hope you give this idea a try. If you do, I’d love to see it!
