Do you ever roam the isles of your favorite store and see all of these beautiful floral patterns and paintings? You light up inside. It makes you feel like me too!
In this post I will talk about the creative spirit and offer tips to create your best art.

Your creative spirit always has ideas
When it is just you and your supplies, you have ideas. It may take you some time to begin. Once that flow begins, you have ideas, and you keep going. Remember the days of being a kid? You are given an idea, but you had your own ideas. Your art wasn’t good or bad. You liked your paintings or drawings and wanted to share them.
Think of All of the Clues That Remind You of Your Gift.
It might be a podcast or a book or browsing in Anthropologie. Ok, Anthropologie is my store. It is always the patterns and the colors that wow me. It always makes me feel like I can too.
Sporadically you come across another artist. You begin chatting and feel like you know them. Then they mention art. It all makes sense. You are both artists. Sometimes there is the, I used to paint but I don’t know how to get back into it.
Listen to the beautiful voice that will always guide you. That voice is love and always lets you know that things will be ok and what’s right. We are the ones that get caught up in everything that has nothing to do with our truth and who we are.

There you have it. Stop saying I want to be an artist. You are an artist! We always know what we want and should be doing. I don’t know why but I keep saying the words my true north. Your true north is your authentic self.
Here Are Some Tips to Help You Honor and Take Care of Your Creative Spirit.
- Spend time in nature. Observe all that you see and feel gratitude for being part of it.
- Create a self-care art ritual. You can designate a time and day where you get out your supplies and you create.
- Observe your thoughts and make sure you are thinking positive ones.
- Find your community! Take courses, follow artists on your social media accounts, show your work.

Thank you for reading. I have been thinking about mindfulness as I doodle in my art journal. I am resting and getting ready for wonderful paintings in spring. You can read more about embracing imperfection in your art here. How about a little inspiration from Eric Carle.
Do you have any tips or ideas that you would like to share?
With Love, Mireya
