I have a new journal but what shall I paint? I have watercolor paper and a watercolor palette that I want to work with. The days are beginning to feel like spring. Yet here I am with what do I paint? Sometimes we artists have so many ideas. We want to paint them all. We get going at it’s great. Then doubt creeps in.
You question your art? Am I an artist. Shouldn’t I be putting good work out there in the world. Is my work good? AND you see someone on social medial say, I was afraid to show my work. One day I started sharing my work. Months later I was making money! Months really!
In this journal entry, I just want to calmy say I am enough because I am. I am an artist. It is important to reflect and ask, what do I think? What is going on here. Sometimes silence helps. Taking deep breaths and saying I am helps!
Doubt is ok
It is ok if I set out to paint beautiful Zinnias and midpoint decide to turn the page over and start over.
It is ok if I used the wrong color by mistake.
It is ok if I have doubts.
It is ok that I used the wrong brush.
It is ok if I let go of one paper.
Tomorrow is another day! You know what, not being sure leaves you open to understanding what may be wrong. The wrong color and brush were not my mistake. My attitude and feeling like I don’t know what to do was my problem.

I have had many beautiful painting moments. Today didn’t work out. That’s ok! I now realize that if I am doubting and using words like wrong and mistakes then I am doing art wrong. Painting is about flow. You allow the ideas to come and keeping coming. There is no I trust because you simply trust. You are in that moment. It’s magical and beautiful!

Tips
The next time you have creative block or are stuck and not sure what to do, ask yourself where are my thoughts?
What’s that saying? Change your thoughts, change your world.
Always choose you.
Loosen up and paint the way that you paint.
Embrace your ideas and your thoughts. You are the artist right!
Doubtful moments will help you bloom and grow. The big bonus is now I know what to do with my journal. I am going to practice painting Zinnias and several other flowers. I should make that list!
