Have you seen one of these murals? If not, I am glad, I get to be the one to introduce you to these beautiful murals. You can see more You Are Loved murals and learn about the artist here.

What better way to bring a community together than by painting a mural TOGETHER. If you look at a gallery of all the murals that have been painted, they are different and reflective of the communities who painted them. Though they are different they all have the same message of love.

Why do I need to pause and share these murals today. At a point when I was negative, I needed positive energy. Here’s my You Are Loved poster. I created this collage poster a while ago.

There you go. You see I knew I was an artist.

I love that there is an Eric Carle Vibe to this. The best part is I remember painting origami paper and layering textures. It was a dream and definitely not like today!

I tried to do another paper collage version of You Are Loved for my self-love painting days. It didn’t happen. When I say it didn’t happen it’s in the sense of, I don’t want to paint anymore today. I felt like an imposter. I ALWAYS want to paint. I am not going to share the two paintings that went in the trash. I am taking a pause. Like the song says, sometimes they’ll be days like this. It is up to us to make the most of life. Right?

I could stay in the awful despair or go on with my beautiful day and week. I will never forget the day I was walking along minding my own business when there before me was this beautiful mural with the words You Are Loved. Then I got to see the artists who said they had painted that TOGETHER. I was blown away, still am.

I am an artist and forever will be. There will be days where things aren’t working out. That’s when you have to take a step back and smile. Change your thoughts and know that things will work out. Oh, and they did! I painted a beautiful print inspired by a hand lettered envelope.

It is all about mindfulness. We have the power to turn the situation around. I want you to know that you are loved. Keep moving forward and have a good one!

With Love, Mireya
