Have you explored paper collage? I have always been a fan of Eric Carle. In this post, I will share with you some of my favorite paper collage projects. Then I’ll show you why it’s such a magical medium to work with.
What I love about Paper Collage?
What I love most about paper collage is that you get to paint all these simple textures. You can paint with a toothbrush or a comb. You let your eyes arrange. Color comes alive. Beauty is revealed when you cut leaves or flowers. Paper collage takes longer to create. It’s easier to pick up the paintbrush and paint because there are no expectations. You explore ideas and then you look for the pieces to cut and create a flower. I rarely throw out a collage project.
It’s like the idea comes to life. I’m just the hands. the painter who puts it together.
Here are some of my favorite projects
In this project, I wanted an idea to express the importance of taking care of you. We all grow and change.

I was drawn to Ana Victoria Calderon’s planet collage project because it helped me express how colorful and beautiful our world is. Wait a minute! Is this in my shop? It is now. That reminds me, always take what you like and put that in your work.

This Anthropologie window display had me. I had to do my own version.

I have a book full of these kinds of flowers.

Here is a quote I did. There is this artist on Instagram. lynn_giunta. She is an inspiration.

I have been posting idea pins on how I paint my flowers along with a little artist chat. These videos are preparation for the collage course. I’ve not forgotten. A collage course is on my list. Would you like to see collage tutorials here?
In case you haven’t noticed art is my life! I love painting and enjoy writing about it too. Thank you for reading and subscribing to my blog. If you have a friend who would enjoy these posts then share it. If you have a blog please comment below. I’d love to see your work.
With Love, Mireya
