Before I begin let me just say that I had red ornaments and was thinking pink flowers. I wanted a big pink rose, flower bouquet. It was days before Christmas and I was thinking love. Valetine’s painting ideas here we go. I am asking myself what do I want to paint more of? What do I enjoy painting?
Pink ornament roses here we go!
Supplies
- small ornament or go big if that is the size you have
- paint brush
- paint in red, white, yellow, and fluorescent pink,
- a small paint brush
- watercolor paint for the leaves
- use a tiny amout of green to intensify your pinks if you want
Use what you have. Remember there is only make and have fun!
Mixing Your Pinks
I like to place a dot of color on the edge of my palette paper. Then I can use the rest of the paper to mix colors. If you need help mixing beautiful pinks, reference my post.

Paint your flowers
Use your brush to paint the bottom half of your ornament. Make sure your paint isn’t too thick. Or stamp with thick paint. Then add water and stamp again. See what works for you and keep painting. The way you stamp with your ornament is you roll it in a circular motion. Go as wide as the size of a quarter. Try it smaller. Make this process your own and have fun!

Oh if you feel like your shapes are looking weird, while the paint is half dry, you can use a brush to move some of the paint around. Add a liitle of the paint you have left on your palette and paint soft strokes for details. Don’t worry. Your flowers will bloom before youer eyes!
Final Touches
Take a little of the pink used for the flowers and add lots of white to make a soft pink. That’s how I painted the vase. I like to have pops of color. This is how I create contrast in my paintings. Once again you do what works for you. Paint your leaves by mixing green and add a tiny drop of the pink.
The best part about painting flowers with ornaments is that your flowers come out different every time.
