Swatching Quinacridone Magenta Liquitex Brand

Are you overthinking about what others think of your work? Stop it. In this post we’ll ask ourselves what we think of our work and create a poster or doodle from that perspective.

Never mind what people think. What do you think?

I have been working on a list of rules for A Painted Garden. I was thinking about my painting sessions and my work. I know that I need to keep growing and of course making art. Suddenly I realized that I spend too much time thinking about what others think of my work. It’s the truth. What do I think of my work?

It doesn’t matter what people think. It’s your art. It’s your work. What do you think? If you think your art is ugly, it’s because you are thinking other people’s thoughts.

This is me!

How about a little project

All you have to do is doodle. Use copy paper go to the Dollar store and choose a journal. Start drawing and painting. Nevermind that the paper is thin. Be an amateur. Use what you have and make art like you have before. You probably have a notebook filled with doodles to share but you haven’t because what will they think.

Here’s some of my doodles.

What do I think of my work? My work is colorful, textured, makes me smile and brings me peace. I think if I feel this way then maybe I could help others feel this way. I want to make more art. I shall. I am.

I encourage you to doodle. Get out your doodles and observe what you are expressing. How does that make you feel? Paint from this perspective. Paint with you. Make more art. Create a poster for your creative space. Take a break from social media if you have to. Let it be you and your tools. I am working on making more art.

colorful word art lets do this on a cream tote bag

Thank you for reading. I was supposed to finish and post my pink ornament roses. There’s always tomorrow. If you make something I’d love to see your work.

With Love, Mireya
