Have an idea? Go for it! I wrote those words and have been thinking about making more art and less questioning. In today’s post I will share a poster that I made. I hope that my art and my words inspire you!

Drawing blue ink flowers

Draw flowers with ink

I am using the eyedropper tool that comes inside my blue ink bottle. I borrowed this idea from another artist I found on Instagram. She draws details with the eyedropper tool on her big abstract flower paintings. I wanted to paint flowers, and her brilliant idea popped in my head.

The best part of painting with the eyedropper tool is it’s right out of the bottle. You just draw. You can’t erase blue metallic acrylic paint. That keeps you drawing and surprised when the idea comes together. Now that I sketched my blue flowers it was time to fill in the flowers with pink watercolor.

I am happy with this design. I painted with a new tool and that experience was all about just go for it. I was able to express how nature makes me feel. The big idea with this poster is less thinking and more making.

I wasn’t going to post this project. I was unsure. Did I have the time? Again, I am like go for it! Here I am thinking of the rules poster I am working on for A Painted Garden. One of the rules is paint your idea and keep painting. That was my process. Not only am I posting about this, but I added this poster to my shop. There you go. If you have an idea, go for it! Enjoy the process.
