Art makes me happy. Where I was Friday morning, that made me happy. The painting I just finished made me happy. In this post I want to share the colors, the texture and the idea behind my new painting Be Bold Wildflowers. Should I write a poem? Yes, why not!

My painting began with this sketch. I simply picked up my Neocolors and began doodling. Doodling makes me happy.

Ok now on to the poem!

Happiness

No not the feeling that comes and goes

It’s a peace, a calm that flows

A little play

Gave me the greatest day

Reading a psalm

Painting with the dropper of blue ink

Wandering in the garden to think

The song

Knowing we all belong

A cup of tea

It’s all free

I left out dogs, horses and cake. Oh, and imagining the world I am reading about is magical too. My greatest joy is the way nature makes me feel.

Here’s my painting!

Be Bold Wildflowers

I used watercolors, acrylic paint and ink. My only idea was to paint a field of wildflowers. Sure, bright pinks were on my mind. Oh, and I have been painting with Neocolors. You take your wet brush, swipe it on the Neocolor and paint. It’s wonderful. Gold green is my favorite color to use for leaves these days. I always love teal too. Gold green has a little shimmer and shine. The pink makes these flowers pop. I want to paint pops of color that brightens up any space.

These are my flowers. I paint what I want to paint. How do you paint flowers? Be Bold Wildflowers is fitting for my flower painting and this post. We are all wildflowers growing and blooming the way we are meant to. There is a space, room for all of us. Be Bold in the Just Ask kind of way. A Painted Garden is all about unapologetically painting the way you paint. It’s not just painting on a canvas but wherever you go, whatever you do, doing it with you!

Pink Watercolor Paint Water

I am working on writing a rules poster for A Painted Garden. It’ll be like the rules or mission of our creative space. Words that we can hang in our creative space. Do you like the new website? I’m still making changes but off to a good start. What did I draw with the blue ink? Ornament flowers? Hand lettering?

Mure sure you subscribe if you’re curious and want all of this in your mailbox.

With Love, Mireya
