In these flowers, I paint the calm, peace, and positivity that nature makes me feel. I can see in some of the flowers where I thought too much. I have soft strokes like the pink rose in the upper right corner. That was all me, in love with nature! The roses on the bottom of the vase are where I thought too much. I will repaint this painting. Let me take a photo of it now for reference. Done!

I remember painting these flowers. The color palette is bright. Oh, right. I was going through a blue flower phase, and I think it all started with these beauties. I was taking my flat brush and softly blending swirls of paint. I like using a flat brush to paint my roses. My work brings me joy and fills me with hope. Wait a minute is that how I overcome doubt in my art? Yes! When you feel yourself not painting the way you want and ugly thoughts come about, pay attention to your body. Loosen up your grip and your brush and let the magic unfold.

This week, I had a few down moments. I haven’t worked on a book project in a while. I wonder about the direction I am going with my art. I have my dreams and will share them in Sunday’s post.
Oh, then I went for a walk under the moon, and everything was calm and bright! I should paint blue roses tomorrow and choose an artist quote. I shall!
Whenever you have doubts, take a deep breath and put on your favorite song. I did that tonight and it really helped. You can also step outside for a while to feel the breeze, soak up the sun, or listen to the birds singing. The moon and the stars are amazing too!
As always, thank you for reading!
With Love, Mireya
