Sketching different tools

Flower doodles are my favorite. Do you feel like you don’t have time to paint? Maybe you aren’t feeling confident in your art. Doodling may be the answer.

Monotone Vases

I want more of these ceramic vase floral arrangements! As you can tell this is a regular notebook. There is nothing fancy about this journal. Yet I love this design. All I did was open up to a blank page and doodle!

Sun-kissed Pink Flowers.

Kissed by the sun? That should be the title of this work. These are the colors of my signature palette. When I sat down to create this mug all I knew was I wanted a mug with a heart handle. Once I started the idea bloomed before my eyes. Do you work on paper collage? If you do, what paper do you use? All those projects that didn’t work, use them for paper collage!

Explore Tools and Doodle Flowers

I used a lot of simple tools to make beautiful flowers. Wow I love these! I have to explore how to paint flowers to make flower pattern designs. Oh, I did work on a book. I forgot how fun that was! I imagine how my flowers will look on the merchandise bags at Anthropologie. Yes, that is my dream!

It’s the beautiful blue flowers on the left that have my heart. Sometimes an idea works and sometimes it doesn’t. (flowers on the right)

Ornament Flowers

Not sure when I stumbled on this idea but wow! I must keep stamping with ornaments. The big lesson here is that you can paint with almost anything. Get creative!

Leftover paint is where the real magic happens

For some reason many of my good ideas happen when I finished painting. There is leftover paint, and I go for it. The random is usually the best. The brushstroke texture is wonderful. The color warms me and makes me smile.

The blue flower is another idea. I want to say I painted a blue flower pattern that I wasn’t excited about. Then boom the blue flower happened. I love the texture I get when I stamp with the bottom of a brush.

Try something odd. It will probably be a great idea

Vaseline makes lovely texture. With your finger you apply Vaseline to your painting. Then you wipe away areas. The light wide oval odd shapes are the areas where I applied Vaseline to. It is an interesting texture.

Not sure about Vaseline? Try stamping!

Oh, my goodness. I miss my candle lid. Not sure if Bath & Body Works makes lids like this anymore. If you know of a place where I can get something like this, please tell me.

I am now excited to finish painting my flower doodles! I will do that now. Hope you enjoyed this post. Thank you so much to all of the new subscribers.

With Love, Mireya
