In case you have any doubt, art is your story. Art is how you pick up the paintbrush or if you choose not to use one. Art is the medium you choose. Art is how you make them feel. Do they laugh? Do they wow at the sight of your painting? Maybe the colors give them peace and hope.

Today I simply want to say that I am an abstract flower artist. I paint flowers in all kinds of ways. I believe there is no right way to paint a flower. I hardly dress up for Halloween. Last year I was Peter Pan. This year I tried being a scarecrow and didn’t like it. I realized that I don’t have to dress up because everyone else is. I can do my own thing because as Tabitha Brown would say it’s my business!

Tomorrow is Halloween and I am not wearing a costume. I will however be wearing a black witch hat. My hat has a flower and feathers on it which is festive enough for me. I really wanted the Wicked hat.

You should always embrace who you are. Chances are if you think you are not an artist it is because society norms made you believe you are not. The proof is in our childhood. Children always create amazing art. No permission is needed. There is a certain age where you don’t care what people think and you love everybody. More importantly, you can paint and keep asking for more paper. Oh that’s right I read a recent post about… well I forgot the words but someone was seeking validation to be an artist. We don’t need validation. We just need to make art.
