Do you ever change your mind about your painting? First, you like it, maybe you love it. Then you want to throw it away. Maybe you feel like the world doesn’t see your art, will they ever? Then you get kind feedback. The biggest change that I have experienced in my art is in the process of creating.

You start with simple strokes not knowing how abstract your flowers will be. EttaVee calls it the awkward phase. If we stop and observe our paintings right before the painting blooms we lose momentum. There is that story of an olympian who was the fastest runner in the world. A new runner comes to compete. They are running on the track. The fastest runner looks back to see where the new runner is. He knows they’re good, they’re fast but where are they? At that moment the fastest runner in the world loses the race.

Right now let me hold onto my paintings as children do. Let me share my paintings because art is what I do, it’s me. When I am about to doubt let me change my mind and keep painting. When I want to silence the world around me, let me look above and within. As I paint, it is my job to paint. It’s not my job to question if my art is good or bad? There is only make. Wait, the Frugal Crafter referenced someone saying, “Don’t judge your work with a paintbrush in your hand.”

Here are some paintings that went through many changes. I would be in a creative space, in my zone. Then I’d doubt. Then I come to my senses and say what have I got to lose. I am an abstract flower artist. Always, A Painted Garden is where wildflowers grow. When I paint from this perspective, wow is it beautiful!
