Daily writing prompt
What daily habit do you do that improves your quality of life?
three orange flowers with leaves

Painting gives me peace. Painting is my peace. As much as fear shows up in my painting session, I acknowledge fear and move forward.

Celebrate Life isn’t quite finished.

I never thought about this but painting keeps me away from social media. Yes, I blog and use Pinterest for my art. There is the occasional Instagram post. I have to follow the artists who inspire me.

Bountiful Flowers

Lately, I have been sick and listening to Kute Blackson’s posts which is good! Then I drifted to unhealthy cooking demos and celebrity gossip. As Tabitha Brown says, that is not my business. My business is painting, all things art, working on my blog, mastering SEO, Nature for sure, and my family. Oh, and I do love to browse the aisles of Dollar Tree. I am all for saving money and learning to invest. The latter is well, I am a total beginner.

Art is my business. Painting flowers gives me strength, courage, and love. What I love most about art is it’s my sacred place. I get an idea, start working, and the idea blooms. Sometimes I say where did this come from? I get lost in my world. We need a sacred place to nourish our spirit. It’s Corita Kent’s rule number 1.

Find a place you trust and then try trusting it for a while.

Art is my trusting place. I am free of society and to-do lists. I can make a mess and explore tools. I was cleaning my dining table and noticed a spot of teal paint on the leg. That must have been a good time. I admit I wasn’t in my trusting place when I thought oh my I got paint on the table leg! I hope it comes off. It did. No, I don’t want to mess up the table but in my sacred place, the mess is where my best work is at.

I have a birthday coming up. I want to add new work to my shop and get back into painting. I am going to sprinkle this post with some of my best paintings because I realized that imperfections are the best part of the painting.
