Oh, I wish I had read this quote before I painted. Here’s what happened. I mixed a lovely bright pistachio green. Yes, I referenced my color mixing from last week. Then the flowers seemed dull, and I mixed up Magenta and layered new color on the flowers. On and on it went. The painting is now in the trash. I’m taking a moment to breathe and say, I mixed a lovely bright pistachio green.

The next painting will be better. Some paintings will go in the trash, a lot of them will. That’s all part of the flow-the process-my magic. I will keep painting and doing what I do because I am an artist. It’s what I do. This is a personal lesson I am learning too. I love Morgan’s work but what a brilliant idea to stop, breathe and gather my thoughts!
