The holidays are here. We have a few days off, and I thought I’d share a few project ideas.

Do you usually paint with neutrals? Go for Bright Colors. I have gone from painting neutrals to bright colors. Right now, I am all about pink.

This is a work in progress. My previous paintings have been…not the color scheme that is calm, bright and all that nature makes me feel. Sometimes I overthink. Other times I pick up the paintbrush and paint. This was one of those days. I’m going to name this painting Brighter Days.
Give Fluorescent Pink a Try

I like fluorescent pink. I forgot how fun it is to paint with. I should restock on the rose pink. I painted a beautiful Botanical Garden, but it scanned awful. That is part of why I am returning to the basics of mixing colors, which led to a Pinterest video. By the way, the Basics Fluorescent Pink is amazing! You can swatch it and realize that a tiny amount is enough.
Try to paint with a seasonal color
I painted orange acrylic paint flowers a few days ago. The colors I used were Medium Magenta and Primary Yellow, mixed in Yellow Ochre and Titanium White. My colors are darker and feel like fall instead of spring or summer. Maybe I’ll mix up a brighter orange and paint over this design. I will do that! I do love this abstract flower design! What’s a journal for, right? This post will help me.

This painting is not in my shop but I will add it to the list of repaints. I have been enjoying doodling.

Finger Painting Beautiful Flowers
Try painting with all of your fingers. I learned from Etta Vee that your middle finger is the easiest to paint with. I have painted with the bottom of a closed fist. Finger painting is something we did as kids. It feels good to make a mess and flowers are easy to finger paint.

I hope you enjoyed these project ideas. I will be working on paper roll flowers, flat brush flowers, and more work to come. Subscribe so you won’t miss out. How do you like to paint?
With Love, Mireya
