Watercolor painting of a yellow ochre vase with yellow, pink and orange watercolor flowers

What experiences in life helped you grow the most?

Every time I get to teach children art, I am reminded that confidence and great ideas are always here. There is no need to build it. My students always pick up the brush, mix color, and paint. There is no hesitation. Even when they ask for a new sheet of paper, they don’t question it. They have a better idea and keep going. Sometimes it’s a deviation from what I’ve taught them. I begin to question. I don’t know why I do because every time the results are beautiful! The artist in me loves the ideas yet there’s this part of me that doubts.
