Art deteriorates when it is done for the audience.

James Pierce

Yes, that’s what happened today. At least I have a reminder of what not to do.

In these paintings, I was painting for me. I thought of nature. Thinking of nature always gives me warmth and peace.

There is good that comes from being in your creative space. The room is quiet. You have your supplies. Sometimes all you have is a pencil and copy paper. You pick up the pencil and draw. Draw what comes to mind. Challenge yourself to draw for 15 minutes. Choose your own time.

In the above abstract flower paintings, I wasn’t thinking about selling art, my portfolio, or wasting paint. I painted on regular paper. All that I had was an idea and the motivation to fulfill it. I am looking at the blue flower paintings and wondering why haven’t I been painting more flowers like these?

My birthday is coming up and I will soon purchase new brushes and a few new tubes of paint.

With Love,

Mireya
