I’ve been reading Show Your Work. And, the book begins with the ultimate question that artists ask. How do I get found? And that is exactly where I am.

The only way to get found is to be so good they can’t ignore you. I forgot where I read these words but it’s great advice! What does it mean to be so good they can’t ignore you.

This week I helped out at the face painting table. My brushes were terrible, the paint wasn’t painting the way it had, the parents were checking my progress and I… was in these lousy thoughts.

Then I decided to say, I know how to paint and my drawing is good. Forget about the rest and do what I know how to do. I found a better brush. That’s when the smiles came. The above painting is about me just having no particular plan and expressing myself FREELY. I figure if I do that then well, hello art dreams.

This week I learned to always have what is most important to me and express myself.

I also learned that I am at my best when I paint and wander in nature.
