I spent a few days sketching flowers. Yes, I like these pink roses but there are many ways to paint roses. I’ve painted my pink roses in this yet-to-bloom phase. When I referenced photos, I observed the shapes. I love how the center of the flower is close. Then the petals flow into more oversized random shapes. Even the leaves have their beautiful patterns. Maybe the roses I have been drawing reflect my mindset?

Back to my painting process. I was looking for a background color and came across green gold. Green gold! I used my finger to blend color for the petals. Oh, that reminds me of my next project. You know I have a list of project and painting ideas. I have been organizing my art journaling Pinterest board. That will be the basis of some of the blog posts I’ll be writing.
