Wild About You Paper Collage

What could you do more of?

What can I do more of? I’ll borrow the title of Austin Kleon’s book Show Your Work. When I say show my work, I mean show the work that means something to me. I want to show the kind of work that makes me, for a moment, think I’m not sure I want to share this because these are my thoughts. Then an even bigger voice says, “Don’t worry about what people think. You can’t control what people say. You can choose to focus on the joy and peace that art brings you.”

And I do love my new project! Wild About You is a book filled with colorful paper collage flowers, exciting textures, and whimsical thoughts. I just did a third read and added a few doodles. Which, by the way, are fluorescent colors hard to scan? I don’t have much experience with fluorescent paint. I am getting good practice. I want to show my work, experiment, and explore. I want to always be the girl who sees an Anthropologie window display, gets an idea, and paints. At this moment I look up and see the moon. It’s bright and beautiful. Painting and Wild About You make me feel the same way. Maybe I should write a book about the conversations I have with the moon? Wild about you is coming soon!

Siempre,
