What did I use to mix up this lovely shade of my blouse? Oh right, I mixed cadmium yellow, rose pink, and a drop of fluorescent pink! I forgot how lovely it is to mix my colors. I don’t have orange or green. I have teal and turquoise but no green. It felt good to do nothing but mix paint. I have a good field of flowers going. I painted a blue-green background and have an idea!
“I want to make paintings that look as if they were made by a child.” – Jean-Michel Basquiat
Yes, that is all I hope for! My mantra is there’s no right way to paint a flower. I want to take artwork like Suzanne’s, Carrie’s, and Corita’s. Oh and a few t-shirt designs like James. I want to take all of these ideas and paint like ME, paint like the magnificent kid who knows.
What’s your favorite color? Time to go work on the blooming conversations. Although wildflower conversations are sounding amazing!
Siempre,
Mireya
