I stopped right here for this session. It’s been a few hours since I painted these flowers. The deep magenta centers complement the blue vase. I should give the magenta centers a blue dot border. I will. Those colored line leaves? I’ll turn them into leaves. Yes, more leaves. The teal vase needs another layer. I need two flowers where there are gaps.

There is a difference between overthinking and creative exploring. Overthinking kills the creative spirit. First comes the thought. Then comes doubt. It’s a vicious cycle. Exploring is joyful. I’ve been painting more work than I would have the entire summer. I’m going from one idea to the next. I’m going to use a Neocolor to draw the changes I want to make. And that is happy hope.

Not going to lie, there was a throw this away moment. You tried it’s ok. Oh but immediately I kept going and happy hope.

For today I’d like to say don’t throw away your art. Keep working on it. Have faith and soon you’ll start to see how it works.
