Watercolor painting of a yellow ochre vase with yellow, pink and orange watercolor flowers

How do you paint flowers? Millions of people all over the world search for ideas for painting flowers. I search too. Today I added a little water to my palette and painted. The brush that I was second-guessing was gliding on the page. Yellow Ochre was my hero! I added a few layers. Let them dry. Oh, that’s right I sketched with oil pastels. It’s just a box of 12 colors that cost me $3. It was glorious.

Too bad I didn’t paint this on watercolor paper. I could have added it to my shop. No worries I will be painting a lot of flowers. I have only one sheet left in my journal! It’s going to be time to paint on my 9 x12 watercolor paper. I am ready! The best way to paint flowers is to paint them! There is a gem in every piece of artwork you make. Don’t worry about having the right tools or skills. Let your spirit guide you. There’s a voice inside you that is shining so bright. Don’t let the darkness around you dim your beautiful light! You are a beautiful force. From time to time many of you express how my art brings you joy and inspires you to paint. I’m glad and thank you.

I’m comfortable with watercolor now. Aside from blue my other favorite color is yellow ochre. The arrangement I painted for this post is peaceful.

Siempre,

Mireya
