Look at my paper plate palette. It reminds me of Eric Carle’s collage! The Eric Carle Collage-inspired colors are one reason why you should use what you have. You will make beautiful art. Let me explain.
For this entry, I obviously didn’t paint in my journal. The paint is old and separating from the pigment. Maybe the paint needs a better shake? The paint has been sitting in a hot room for a long time. Yet we have been painting and mixing beautiful colors. The fireworks paintings were amazing. I mixed pink and orange tones. The tools do not matter. I know I have been reviewing paint. And I was roaming the isles of the art section at Joanne’s and was reminded of the Liquitex Hard Body paint I won. I like this set! I really do. I enjoy my Neocolors but painting with these acrylic paints and my students is the best motivation! And the color palette is how I felt. This five roses would look cute on a light turquoise colored gift bag or tote? Yes ! An artist is an artist no matter the tools.
I am working on a pink and orange ceramic vase painting. I’ll share more of that tomorrow.
