For this journal entry I wanted to use watercolor. I haven’t used my watercolors in a long time. I will do more with watercolor when I use the watercolor mixed media journal paper. Let’s go over this design.

I used a small round brush to sketch the flower shapes. Then I used a flat brush to add the petal detail strokes. I did a few layers. I didn’t mix color in my palette. For example, I painted a green leaf then layered blue over the green. You get interesting textures and color when you mix color on the page! At first the leaves with the orange made me feel like I was painting oranges. I kept working, adding my siganture blue dots and used a pen to outline the leaves. Done!

In case you’re curious, I have a Phoenix Watercolor Set. As I use it more, I’ll do a review.

Siempre,

Mireya
