There’s this artist who is all about mixing on the page to see what happens. Why swatch and mix on a palette when you can paint. I agree!

The flower painting on the left was done with mixing white. Mixing white preserves more of the color. The blue is brighter. I like the blending I get when I layer with mixing white. The blue over the green is interesting and fun. I’m going to recreate this idea on 9 x12 watercolor paper. I have already started!

Tomorrow I’ll share flowers I painted testing out the entire set. I am really enjoying the liquitex hard body acrylic paint.
